Day Centre
Activities include playing games, quizzes, short walks, speakers, daily exercises and time to chat. A three course hot nutritional meal is provided. We are able to offer specialized dementia care and motivated staff provide a range of stimulating physical, mental and musical activities in a safe and happy environment. Referrals via Social Services or privately. A bathing service is also available.
Transport to medical appointments (available to patients of 6 Exeter Surgeries, the Westbank Practice and GP surgeries in Teignmouth, Shaldon and Bishopsteignton)
If you are unable to make it to a medical appointment (eg. if you have no family or friends who can take you, or if you are unable to use public transport), we have volunteers who may be able to take you and stay with you. There is no charge for the service, although we do have a suggested donation tariff.
We have volunteers who can visit people who are isolated in their homes. This can be on a weekly basis, or on whatever basis suits both the volunteer and the person being visited. Referrals need to come from either a medical professional or from Social Services.
Shopping (available to patients of 6 Exeter Surgeries, the Westbank Practice and GP surgeries in Teignmouth, Shaldon and Bishopsteignton) If you are struggling with things such as shopping, we may have volunteers who can help, eg if you have just come out of hospital. Please contact us if you think there is something we might be able to help with. (Key Contact: Exeter and Westbank - Julie Farrant or Tina Graham if Teignmouth, Shaldon or Bishopsteignton)
