Who should attend? Who should attend? We are encouraging carers to come along if they like books or just want to try something a bit different. What are the benefits of joining? Shared reading can improve self- confidence, and self-esteem, increase wellbeing and decrease social isolation and loneliness. The Book Breaks will give carers an opportunity to meet with and make friends with other carers in an informal atmosphere to share an experience. Can carers join if they don’t read much? Carers don’t need to be regular readers and it doesn’t matter if they haven’t read a book since school – everyone is welcome. Do they have to attend every session? Carers can come for a taster to see if they like it – no big commitment is required, they do not have to attend every time. Is there a charge? There is no charge to attend. Do we need to make referrals? Carers can just come along, no need to book a space and no need to make a referral. We hope they will come along – make friends with other carers over a shared reading experience and enjoy books together. IF a carer is interested in a group where there is no confirmed date please forward their name to us and we’ll let them know when it starts.
