We are launching some exciting new groups across Devon specifically for carers. We would love you to come along to one of our Book Breaks in Tiverton, Honiton, Kingsbridge, Topsham, Newton Abbot, Exeter, Bideford or Okehampton.
Book Breaks offer carers an opportunity to meet each other in small friendly groups, have a cup of tea and enjoy stories and poems together. Relax and listen whilst our trained group leaders read aloud from old and new stories and poems. Join in if you wish or just sit and listen. There is no pressure for anyone to read or even speak because simply listening to the literature and the other group members can be uplifting. Shared reading can improve self- confidence, and self-esteem, increase wellbeing and decrease social isolation.

If you like books or just want to try something different, then come along and enjoy the experience with other carers in an informal atmosphere.

Don’t worry if you aren’t a regular reader or haven’t read a book since school – everyone is welcome. You can come for a taster to see if you like it. No big commitment is required.

Come along – make friends with other carers over a shared reading experience and enjoy books together.
