Fun, Easy and Social Community Cooking Sessions Community cooking initiatives in Cullompton, Tiverton and Exeter Let's Cook offers ongoing sessions giving participants the opportunity to learn how to cook on a budget, cook for one, avoid food waste and to cook healthier meals; it is run in a fun, hands on and friendly group environment. The sessions are run regularly to prepare then share lunch together: Cullompton at The Walronds, 6 Fore St, Cullompton, EX15 1JL on the following dates: Fridays on 20th Sept, 18th October, 15th November and 20th December from 11am-1.30pm. These sessions cost £3.50p each or £12 for four booked together. We also have a new initiative for young parents/carers who wish to learn how to cook healthy family meals. Children can join in too. Following the session you can share lunch together with your child. Sessions run Tuesdays 8th, 22nd October, 5th, 19th November, 3rd and 17th December. Sessions are 11.30am-1.30pm and cost £3 each per parent/child. Tiverton at Sunningmead Community Centre, Lazenbury Rd, Tiverton, EX16 4AL: Mondays fortnightly on 9th, 23rd September, 7th, 21st October, 4th, 18th November and 2nd December. Sessions are 11am-2pm. These sessions cost £3.50 each or £21 for all seven booked together. Places are limited so booking is essential. Exeter New community cooking sessions are running at the Newtown Community Hut in Belmont Park, Gordon Rd, Exeter EX1 2DH on Fridays 11am-1.30pm in partnership with Friends of Mount Pleasant and Sainsbury's Charity of the Year. Dates are 4th, 18th October, 1st, 15th and 29th November and 13th December. Sessions cost only £1 with help with funding from Sainsbury's. Katheryn Hope, Healthy Neighbourhoods says "These are really enjoyable sessions. Whether you're a complete beginner or need new ideas you can join our small friendly hands-on monthly cooking sessions in a fun and friendly environment." We are also looking for volunteers to support this activity. If you enjoy cooking, then we would love to have you as a volunteer to help participants benefit from these sessions by sharing your knowledge and enjoyment of cooking with them.
