Westbank's Healthy Neighbourhood project is launching a brand new project for young parents or carers of little ones to learn how to make food for their weaning babies and toddlers in partnership with The Walronds, Cullompton.

Let's Cook is a new community cooking project to support young parents and carers to cook healthy and imaginative meals on a budget for their family that can be adjusted for weaning babies and toddlers.  Young children can join in with the cooking too. The sessions will be delivered fortnightly on Tuesday mornings from 8th October 11.30am to 1.30pm.

Everyone including the children eats the food they've prepared for lunch and the cost of only £3 per family includes ingredients.

The sessions are hands on, friendly, fun, informative and relaxed. This is a pilot project that we plan to roll out to other areas of Devon where it will benefit parents in Devon. Our first taster session was a great success with mums introducing new foods to their babies and finding ways round some of their immediate challenges:

I'd never have tried this unless I'd been shown! Brilliant idea!
