budleigh hub harvest festivalClients from Budleigh Salterton Memory Café welcomed young children from Carousel Nursery to celebrate this year’s Harvest Festival.

As part of a successful ongoing collaboration at Budleigh Hub the children from Carousel Nursery visit the day care centre every day to read stories, sing songs and have fun with the karaoke machine and join in gentle exercise, they also visit the clients at the memory café once a month to join in their activities.

The Harvest Festival provided an opportunity for guests to sing-along to old favourites; some of the children enjoyed dancing around whilst taking time to stop to talk to the older guests, with a biscuit or piece of cake never far away!

Marc Jobson, Westbank Budleigh Hub Manager, said “This was a really special occasion and lots of fun for all those who attended.  The children will continue to visit the day care centre and memory café where it is hoped stories will be shared and friendships will be made”.

Donations to the harvest festival have resulted in a number of hampers being made up for vulnerable people in the local community, with the rest of the food collected being donated to the local Foodbank.
