Devon Carers supports over 20,000 carers from across Devon. As part of Carers Week and to celebrate the huge contribution Carers make in supporting their loved ones we are launching our Step Out for Carers Week Challenge.

We would like to invite carers to come along and take part in one of our free and accessible health walks. It’s an opportunity to get out, meet other carers and to clock up steps as part of the challenge. All we ask is that you have great fun and record how many steps you make. All steps will be collated and the total distance calculated will be shared at the end of Carers Week. We are aiming to reach 500,000 steps.

Lesley Willmott, Devon Carers Senior Lead Practitioner said:

This is such a good opportunity for carers to meet other carers in a relaxed way and enjoy a short walk around some of the beautiful places in Devon. We all know the health benefits of walking and how good it is for releasing stress. We are trying to encourage as many carers as possible to join in and to gently introduce a walk into their everyday routine.

Join us at a local walk:

The walks will be attended by representatives from the Devon Carers Team, who will be on hand to provide any information you need and serve refreshments at the end of all the walks.
