About my role at Westbank

At Westbank, I am responsible for looking after children aged 2-11 years. My day consists of different daily activities, meal times and outside play, while monitoring the childrens development.

Experience

During my career as a Childcare Practitioner, it was while working at Exeter College Day Nursery that I was asked to babysit a young boy with special educational needs, which I was honoured to do. I've maintained contact with his mum to this day, and we remain close friends.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities & Rights in Health, Social Care or Children & Young People's Settings
• Level 3 Paediatric First Aid 
• Level 2 Safeguarding Children
• Multi-Agency Safeguarding & Child Protection
• Supporting Birth to Two Year Olds in the EYFS
• Learning & Development Requirement of the EYFS

My Values

I work in childcare because I love how no day is the same, and being a part of the children's learning experience, knowing that I am helping them to learn and develop, is incredibly rewarding. 

My Personal Interests

In my own time, I enjoy meeting with friends and family, keeping fit by walking and cycling as well as going to the Spa and enjoying a nice brew!

The best part about my role is making special bonds with the children, encouraging them to achieve their full potential in a caring, fun environment. I am also proud to be a part of the amazing, nurturing Kidzone team!
