About my role at Westbank

I work with Devon carers and lead all the teams that do such a fabulous job supporting carers. This includes Adult Carers, Young Carers and our Hospital Services.

My stand out career moments

Well, I would have to say working for Devon Carers is a definite stand out work moment for me. The various teams do such an amazing job, and I have an excellent working relationship with our commissioners and Carer Ambassadors.

Everybody has such a can-do attitude and is so dedicated to supporting carers.

My values

I started off working in the Learning Disability field and everything I know now and belive in stems from having excellent training in social role valorisation when I was quite young. My teacher was actually somebody who was an original member of the sixties band The Pretty Things, who were known for being the ugliest band around (according to my teacher!).

Personal interests

I love football (Charlton Athletic) and a few years ago started playing walking football which is not as sedate as it sounds. I also love travel and have back-packed around Asia and South America. I studied Human Geography and can bore on a range of topics from integrated transport to economic theory.

“Nobody would ever let me get away with being too big for my boots! We have such a diverse bunch of people working here with a wonderful range of skills and experiences. There is always somebody to put me right!."
