It’s carers week next week.  Usually we’d be organising events and activities that bring us all together, but this year we’re celebrating the week with an amazing range of activities that unpaid carers and their families can enjoy from the comforts of their own homes.

Sports quiz

Are you missing sport on the TV?  Come and show off your knowledge in our Quiz! Join other carers for some light-hearted entertainment about bats and balls, goals and grounds, triumphs and trophies.  Could you be the next Phil Tuffnel or Matt Dawson?!

Cuppa with a copper

Stay up to date with keeping safe, with friendly advice and reassurance from our Neighbourhood Police Teams, including safety of property, personal safety, safety of belongings and safety from fraud.  An opportunity for you to ask questions.

Pins and needles

All you sewers, cross-stitchers, embroiderers, dressmakers, patchworkers, quilters, tapestry-makers, plus knitters and crocheters, come and share your finished projects, your work in progress and hobbies with other carers.  It’s time to talk pins and needles!

Wellbeing and relaxation

Take time for you and treat yourself to some much deserved relaxation. Our therapist, Rosie Kate, will teach you self-easing techniques such as relaxation breathing, gentle stretches, pressure points self-massage and shoulder and neck mobilisations.

Yoga for all

Gentle Yoga from your favourite cosy chair – what could be better! Join popular teacher, Bridget, for a soothing session of yoga from the comfort of your own home.  There’ll be poses you can take away with you to practise on your own.

Creative carers workshop

Join professional crafter Lyndsey, from Crafting with Blooms by Lyndsey (, and learn to make a beautiful flower out of items you have at home. A list of resources will be sent to you, so you can have them to hand.

A virtual forest therapy walk from your window, your balcony, your yard or your garden. Take some time out and immerse yourself with nature as our Nature & Forest Therapy Guide, Emma, leads you through the session.

Take a tour around one of the many gardens in Devon, including our very our Devon Carers team, carers and volunteers gardens, Broomhill Sculpture Garden, Powderham Castle and Gardens, RHS Rosemoor, Burrow Farm Gardens, Fast Rabbit Gardens and Hartland Abbey Gardens.
