General info:

Rooms have been measured and class numbers calculated on a minimum of 2m distance between working areas for seated exercise sessions

The Budleigh Public Hall will be used for this seated class and has been assessed as safe for up to 20 participants, as it involves participants remaining seated at all times.

Before acceptance into the exercise class, all customers will be required to complete and return a health questionnaire designed to allow our instructors to assess their suitability to exercise. No customer will be able to access the class until the health questionnaire has been completed.

  1. Participants must book and pay prior to participation in activity
  2. Customers will enter and exit the building using the front entrance gentle slope; all customers will be reminded that they must comply with social distancing before, during and after the session.
  3. On arrival, customers will be asked if they are experiencing symptoms of Covid 19, (persistent new cough, high temperature or loss of taste or smell) or if they have any other contraindications to exercise. If the customer has symptoms they will be instructed not to take part in the class, advised to return home, dial 119 to request a test and take the appropriate medical precautions.
  4. As they enter the premises, customers will have their temperature taken using a contactless forehead thermometer. Customers with a temperature of 38degrees or more will be considered high and will be asked to go home, avoiding public transport and dial 119 for advice.
  5. Staff / volunteer will confirm attendance against booking sheet which will be kept for 21 days to support the NHS track and trace process.
  6. Participants will need to use hand sanitiser entering and exiting the building which is located in the main entrance.
  7. A one way system will be marked out within the premises which participants will follow and be asked to seat themselves furthest from the entrance ready to exercise. Each workstation will be marked out 2 metres apart with a chair to ensure that social distancing is applied; participants will remain seated throughout the activity. Everyone attending must observe social distancing of 2metres or 1metre + with mitigation measures in place, when using more confined places i.e. accessing toilets, which should be kept as brief as possible.
  8. Participants should arrive ready to participate and bring their own drinks; all belongings must be kept with the individual.
  9. Whilst a face mask is not required for exercise, all customers will be required to wear one in all public enclosed areas of the building. This includes the entrance, to and from chairs and to the toilets.
  10. Emphasis should be however on each individual taking responsibility for their own hygiene and encouraged at all times to bring their own hand sanitisers and wash hands regularly before and after any activity.
  11. Customers must also bring any prescribed relieving medication that they need to manage a health condition.
  12. Participants will be reminded throughout the session to work at their own level and the instructor will advise appropriate instructions to avoid any injuries.
