The client’s day at the centre starts when they are collected from home by minibus and then transported to Westbank.

Their arrival is just in time for a well-earned coffee or tea. The clients can enjoy a lively, active and happy environment, which consists of on-going activities such as:

  • A wide range of mental stimulation activities such as music sessions and word quiz games which include cards, bingo, scrabble
  • Raffles held at various poignant times of the year. The funds raised help support other activities
  • With independence in mind, we provide physical stimulation through our daily walking programme along the Westbank corridor (beware if you happen to be passing!) and seated chair exercises
  • A hot home cooked lunch consisting of three courses, is prepared and cooked fresh on site every day
  • Afternoon entertainment can include such activities as sing-a–longs, memory box talks by volunteers, clients and staff, visits from Exeter University students that provide drama and art (these have been very popular with the clients), quiz afternoons, afternoon tea is enjoyed by everyone, which include homemade cakes

The day ends at 4.30 pm, when the minibuses arrive to take the clients back to their homes again.
