We are looking for an experienced Social Work Deputy Manager to join our Devon Carers team as part of our newly commissioned 5 year contract.  This new role will present the successful candidate with an exciting opportunity to join Devon based charity, Westbank Community Health and Care.  Westbank has been providing practical and emotional support to communities across Devon and beyond for over 30 years.  We employ over 160 people who support babies and children from early years through to older people, at our centers in Exminster, Budleigh Salterton and Starcross and out in the heart of the community; our work is underpinned with support from over 600 volunteers.

Job role

We have a new exciting opportunity for an exceptional deputy manager to join our team to support the provision of Carers’ service across Devon, over the next five years.

So if you are looking for a new challenge and can provide strong leadership, focusing on operations within the Carer Support Management function then Westbank and Devon could be your next move.

This is a strategic role, engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders in senior commissioning roles, in both statutory and non-statutory organisations. You will lead an effective team, building and maintaining key relationships with local agencies to ensure timely and effective assessments, personalised support planning and support management.

You will lead the creation of a workforce development plan, ensuring it fulfils all the legal, quality and specified requirements identified by the Commissioner and Devon Carers.

You will need to be an experienced social worker and manager that can balance the demands of leading a service, developing a team and supporting them to manager complex caseloads. To do this you will have excellent communication skills and experience of managing multi stakeholder relationships.
