We deliver a local and National Diabetes Prevention Programme, which aims to reduce people’s risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. The aim is to support people through a health educational programme to make sustainable lifestyle changes that help them to better understand and to take control of their diet and exercise and to better manage their health. 

Overall Job Purpose

This role will provide high quality administrative support for both our local Heathier Devon Programme and the nationwide Diabetes Prevention programme. In this role, you will mainly focus on inputting patient details onto our databases. The role will also include on-boarding participants onto the programme as well as assigning them to the appropriate Initial Assessments and courses.  The role will require excellent planning, organisational and communications skills, to be able to provide support to both field and office based Co-ordinators and delivery staff. This might be carried out via our IT systems or by telephone.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure incoming referrals are inputted accurately and in a timely manner to meet our weekly deadline
  • To on-board participants onto the programme and assign those to the most appropriate course or initial assessment appointments
  • To be a professional and positive point of contact for the team (telephone calls, emails, correspondence, etc.) ensuring that messages are passed on clearly
  • To be proactive in dealing with email, postal and telephone enquiries, including sending out information packs and other printed material as required
  • To maintain and update systems to provide management information as required
  • To help implement systems and processes to support the team

  • Excellent IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook & Excel with the ability to learn in-house packages as required
