Westbank is a registered charity established in 1986 and became company limited by guarantee in 2007. As a Westbank Fitness Instructor you will be required to assist the Fitness team in providing evidence based and client focused exercise, advice and assistance to a wide variety of people accessing our health and fitness service at our two gym sites and at times locations around Devon. You will be required to build and maintain positive, motivating relationships with our clients while fostering the inclusive welcoming environment that is the foundation of everything we do with our customers.

We will be shortlisting on the following key responsibilities so please use the supporting statement to evidence how you meet these.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Health and Fitness manager with admin tasks involving the exercise referral programme, data maintenance and reporting
  • To perform gym inductions for new clients covering basic equipment usage and health and safety obligations
  • To assist clients within the general population with their exercise programmes and by offering advice on the gym floor
  • To assist our special populations instructors during referral classes
  • To assist during referral follow-on classes
  • To write gym programmes
  • To work flexibly to cover holiday and sickness across both sites.
