Head of Carers Services and Manager, Devon Carers Rate of pay: £41,500 pa Hours per week: 37 Location: Exminster Contract Type: Fixed-term contract until 30th April 2023 Job Description: Head of Carers Services and Manager, Devon Carers Westbank, a vibrant and respected Third Sector organisation, has an exciting opportunity for a manager to join its senior management team. We have worked with adult and Young Carers since our foundation over thirty years ago; recently we were appointed as provider of the Caring Well in Devon and Devon Young Carers services, which are funded through to 2023. The main purpose of this job is to lead and manage the effective delivery of these two local authority contracts. Together the two contracts have a budget in the order of £2.4 million, and about 85 staff are employed to deliver them. The Caring Well in Devon contract includes delivery of statutory social work functions delegated by the local authority. For our Head of Carers Services and Manager Devon Carers we’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual with excellent knowledge of health and social care to lead and manage the effective delivery of these contracts. In addition the postholder will be expected to: identify opportunities to develop new services, including fundraising and tendering, to increase the overall range and sustainability of carers services (all currently delivered under the banner of Devon Carers); act as a member of Westbank’s senior management team, taking the lead in agreed areas of activity across the whole organisation; and, act as an ambassador and external representative for carers services and the wider work of Westbank.
