Helen Morris, Westbank Kidzone Playworker

About my role at Westbank

I joined Westbank in 2012 as a care assistant in the day care centre. In 2020 I was pleased to offered a role in the Kidzone team to support staff in providing excellent childcare.

I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1993 and have worked mainly with elderly patients for 20 years. Following my time as an occupational therapist I joined Westbank day care and more recently Kidzone, where I am able to apply my knowledge and skills.

In addition to my roles as an OT and care assistant I have also worked as a teaching assistant at Exminster Primary school.

My values

I really enjoy looking after and helping people to increase their independence and confidence so they can enjoy their chosen activity.

I value working in a team so we can support and learn from each other.

My personal interests

I am a mum to two teenagers, both of whom enjoyed attending Kidzone when they were younger. Being a mum keeps me busy and has given me a lot of valuable life experience which I can use at Kidzone when engaging with the children. In my spare time I enjoy yoga, swimming and reading.

Working at Westbank has given me the opportunity to work with all ages which I love.
