Salary: £16,988 FTE (pro rata)

Location: Exminster

Hours: 22-37 hours (Full time and part time hours available).This post includes Saturday working on a rota system.

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract to 30th April 2023

Acting as first-point of contact for all enquiries to Devon Carers; ensuring that all incoming telephone calls are dealt with in a friendly, professional manner whilst also providing a sympathetic ear for carers in distress. Your role is to provide advice & guidance and direct carers to the appropriate support services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To answer telephone calls from carers, professionals and general enquiries to Devon Carers;
  • Assisting carers to make informed choices by offering impartial and factual information where applicable, offering a listening and responding approach;
  • Signposting and/or referring carers to Carers Assessments (including booking telephone appointments) where relevant;
  • To make an accurate record of every call and carry out any action required or ensure that it is passed on for action.
