Rate of pay: £18,796 FTE (pro rata)

Hours per week: 22-37 hours (Full time and part time hours available)

Location: Exminster

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract to 30th April 2023

Our Helpline Support Workers undertake initial contact and proportionate (Light Touch, or equivalent) assessments and action/support planning for carers, by telephone. They provide information, advice and guidance, signposting as necessary, and promote carer awareness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To undertake telephone-based assessments and identify carers requiring additional support
  • Ensuring carers are signposted to other relevant services and organisations following to access universal and/or preventative support services
  • Assisting carers to make informed choices by offering impartial and factual information where applicable, offering a listening and responding approach.
  • Ensure that local information is kept to enable carers to be directed by phone to the widest range of local community based services, including support groups, carer workers, involvement opportunities, etc.
