Christmas can be a difficult time for people without family and friends.  At Westbank, we decided to hold various social groups during December, to give vulnerable and isolated people from our community the opportunity to come together. These included:

  • Brunch club with participants enjoying great conversation and a freshly cooked breakfast;
  • Great fun and lots of laughter making festive wreaths at our activity group;
  • Glitter, glue and all things that sparkle at our Christmas craft session, which also included a mince pie or two.

Volunteers also came together to fill 160 Christmas hampers and then distributed them to families and young carers.

We know that loneliness isn't just at Christmas or during a pandemic, but something people experience each day of their lives. Working together, we want to find ways to combat loneliness, and you can help us do that by volunteering or making a donation.

Because life is better when we care for each other

These Christmas activities were funded by Global's Make Some Noise Emergency Appeal.
