About my role at Westbank

My role is to lead Westbank in a way that is effective, that maximises our impact for the people and communities we serve, and is in line with our values.

My stand out career moments

The moments that stand out for me aren’t the big wins but the more personal moments; in particular when staff or service users achieve things they never would have thought possible. Although I’m always happy when a big grant or a successful tender comes in.

My values

I believe the world can be a better place, but to achieve that we have to look out for each other. For me, that means creating a society where everyone can succeed, but more importantly, no one is left struggling with loneliness, poverty or ill health.

Personal interests

I’m a dad; it’s a cliché but it’s what really defines me. My kids – three, nine and eighteen – are my pride and joy. I’m a (half-decent) football coach and a (terrible) walking football player. And I am the owner of an eclectic and ever-expanding collection of books and music.

"I couldn’t do a job where I didn’t feel that I was playing a small part in creating a better society. The best thing about my role at Westbank is that most days I see or hear really concrete examples of how we are doing that."
