Service update: Westbank Community Support Service

The health and wellbeing of our team members, our volunteers and the communities we support is paramount to our Leadership Team and our Board of Trustees.  We are coordinating our services to ensure we continue to support vulnerable people in the community while safeguarding our staff and volunteers.  As an organisation that works with residents in the areas of Exminster, Kenton, Powderham, Starcross, Mamhead and Kenn we recognise our responsibility to keep communicating and connecting at the heart of our response to the current situation.

We are delivering the following services:

  • Setting up a dedicated phone line and email address where you can contact us if you need help, or can give help:

I can help

e: [email protected]

t:  01392 307683

I need help

e: [email protected]

t:  01392 307684

  • Offering support to people who are self-isolating in Exminster, Kenton, Powderham, Starcross, Mamhead and Kenn.
  • Listening and sharing stories from local communities, making sure that our commissioners and others are aware of who is most vulnerable.
  • We are working closely with our commissioners and other partners to provide a coordinated response to ensure people in the local community are receiving the support they need.
  • You can join one of our online exercise classes and Westbank Voices online choir.

How our team are working to deliver this service:

Although our health and wellbeing site at Westbank in Exminster is closed to the public.  Our offices will remain open where our team and volunteers will continue to deliver our community support service.

Support for our volunteers:

We aim to make sure that anyone who gives their time to us feels valued, understood and proud to be part of Westbank.  We will support you in your volunteering role, through telephone and online catch-ups, safeguard you in your role by providing any necessary PPE, look after your health and safety, and reimburse all agreed out of pocket expenses.
