Young Carers Lead Practitioner Westbank has been appointed as preferred provider by Devon County Council for The Devon Young Carers service. The focus of delivery for the service, which is embedded within Devon’s Early Help, will champion children/young people’s voice and engagement at every level of its delivery. It will include Awareness raising amongst partners to promote early identification and referral into the service. A countywide helpline, providing easy access to information and support. A team of support staff providing Young Carers Needs Led Assessments, Transition Assessments, trips/activities and time-limited one-to-one support. Shortlisting Criteria: Experience of working with for Children/young people Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of young carers and their families The ability to undertake risk/needs assessments of children/young people Effective and sensitive communication skills and advocacy skills verbally and in writing Knowledge of the legal implications of working with young and vulnerable people including confidentiality, safeguarding of children and vulnerable people, health and safety and data protection A ‘can do’ focussed outcome and approach Experience of giving presentations/talks to groups A clean driver’s license and access to a vehicle Experience of collecting client feedback on activities and preparing activity reports Closing date for applications: 09:00 Wednesday 22nd May 2019 Interviews to be held on either 30/31 May 2019 An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role.
