Young Carers Support Worker – Hard to Reach Rate of pay: £9,398.74 (£18,797.48 FTE) Hours per week: 18.5 hours Location: Working across Devon from a base in Ivybridge, Bideford, Starcross or Tiverton Due to the newly commissioned 5 year contract for Young Carers Devon we have an exciting opportunity in the new role of Young Carers Support Worker – Hard to Reach. Our Young Carers team support young people who help look after a relative with a disability, illness, mental health condition, or drug or alcohol problem. Focusing on Hard to Reach communities you will: Identify the most vulnerable young carer groups, particularly hidden carers. Develop strong relations with local agencies who already work with hard to reach groups such as Hikmat, Proud2Be. Engage with those isolated and hard to reach young carers by offering a programme of outreach through schools and local organisations. Work closely with relevant adult services including substance misuse, domestic abuse and mental health services. Undertake needs led assessments and initiate support plans. Raise Awareness of the barriers to accessing support for hard to reach groups and solutions to overcoming barriers.
