Stephen Thomas, 32, grew up in North Devon and takes up his seat on the board of Westbank less than a year ago after his initial appointment as Head of Finance and Business Planning. His swift promotion is in recognition of his tremendous achievements in the improvements he has made in the management of Westbank’s finances.

Stephen worked in finance for a NHS charity throughout the pandemic. He has also worked as a Financial Manager for the Church of England. Before that, he was an auditor – a role that took him to Singapore, the Falkland Islands, Bristol and Exeter.

Stephen says, “Finance in the Third Sector is an exciting area to work in because it’s about enabling the charity’s vision, not restraining it. I joined the team at Westbank in October 2021 at a time when the organisation was undergoing big changes and there were many opportunities. I’m delighted to have been promoted within a charity that shares my commitment to helping people in the local community.”

When he’s not at work, Stephen enjoys rock climbing and going for walks in Devon’s beautiful countryside with his wife.
