Healthy Neighbourhoods The aim of Healthy Neighbourhoods is to develop and roll-out a variety of community-led health and wellbeing activities in East and Mid Devon. Our team of staff and volunteers will develop and deliver a range of activities aimed at reducing isolation, encouraging self-care, increasing physical activity, promoting healthy eating, maintaining mobility and independence and supporting carers. Whilst the individual nature of these activities will be influenced by the needs identified the types of activities we anticipate are as follows: Social activities and opportunities for older people and people with long term conditions: Outings Friendship and activity groups Befriending (telephone and face to face) Health and wellbeing activities and support for people struggling from the effects of age, loneliness, illness, disability, deprivation and unhealthy lifestyles: Holistic wellbeing programmes for people with illnesses and long term conditions Falls prevention classes and support Healthy eating and cooking support (group and 1:1) Physical activity initiatives such as health walks, zumba gold, table tennis, tai chi, yoga, wheelchair dance Digital inclusion support (group and 1:1) Out of hospital support Help with shopping Public health awareness campaigns (eg. flu jab, skin cancer awareness, warm & well) Alcohol awareness and reduction For more information please contact Sarah Forde Westbank Healthy Neighbourhoods Project Manager on: t: 01392 824752 option 2, 2 or e: [email protected]
