The Westbank patient transport service helps people who are unable to access public transport, or who are without family or friends nearby to get to their healthcare appointments and health-related exercise and rehabilitation classes.

We have a team of fully trained volunteer drivers who provide this valuable service to people in the Exeter and Westbank area.

Our volunteer drivers help patients from the following surgeries:

  • Westbank Practice (Starcross Surgery and Exminster Surgery)
  • Barnfield Hill Surgery
  • Isca Medical Practice
  • St Leonards Practice
  • The Whipton Surgery
  • Wonford Green Surgery

Although the Westbank patient transport service is free, we do ask for a small donation to cover the volunteer drivers expenses.

Patient transport headlines, 2018:
  • 1,100 medical appointments
  • 725 hospital discharges

To register for the patient transport service, to arrange transport, or if you would like to volunteer as a driver please contact:

"I can only go to the hospital because of the patient transport service. It keeps me healthy and allows me to interact with others."
