Move It Friends support people with short or long term health conditions who are without family and friends to help them re-arrange furniture in their homes to make way for essential equipment. This enables people to receive services from Health and Social Care professionals in the comfort of their own homes.

The main task for Move It Volunteers is to move a bed to make way for a hospital bed – we always arrange for volunteers to work in pairs for this task!

Qualities and skills required?

Our Move It Friends will need to be patient and understanding, have a reasonable level of fitness and be reliable and discreet.

Volunteers will receive

• Induction training
• Specific training according to their role
• A point of contact for support and or guidance
• Social opportunities
• Agreed out of pocket expenses reimbursed
