For many people who have a short or longer term health condition a trip to the super market or local shops becomes an impossible task, particularly for those who don’t have family or friends who are able to help. Although there are many organisations which provide a home meal delivery service, they unfortunately can’t provide the solution for all shopping needs.

Our Shopping Friend volunteers help by either taking a person shopping or to do the shopping on the persons behalf on a one off or weekly basis.

Qualities and skills required?

Our Shopping Friend Volunteers will need to be patient and understanding, be reliable and discreet. And of course to like shopping!

Volunteers will receive

• Induction training
• Specific training according to their role
• A point of contact for support and or guidance
• Social opportunities
• Agreed out of pocket expenses reimbursed
