Three young carers from Exeter and Okehampton had a surprise visit from Exeter Chiefs Player Ollie Devoto, in his new role as Devon Young Carers Ambassador.

Having accepted the Devon Young Carers Ambassador's role, Ollie is already getting out meeting young carers across Devon in person and virtually.

Ollie surprised the three young carers with a large food parcel and an Exeter Chiefs goody bag. The young carers were then able to chat with Ollie, they went off to local parks where they played catch and picked up a few top-tips from Centre Ollie, and even beat him in a running race! Ollie also signed the memorabilia they had. The young carers had a fantastic time meeting Ollie, with one saying afterwards,

"I'm just so happy, I met my hero today. I never thought that would ever happen to me". Young Carer

Ollie then hosted a virtual Q and A session with other young carers in Devon, with them asking him some excellent and thought-provoking questions, which enabled them to get an insight into the life of a professional athlete. They all had a brilliant time and are already asking when the next meeting with Ollie is! Thank you so much to Ollie for making the children feel so comfortable and answering their questions so excellently.

Devon Young Carers look forward to organising more events with Ollie in the future.
