Type 2 represents 90% of all diabetes and is largely caused by lifestyle factors. The good news is that it can be avoided by making changes in diet and exercise habits.

Our mission is to support you in making your own changes to reduce the likelihood of you developing Type 2 diabetes and its associated health complications.

Are you at risk?

You are most likely at risk if you:

  • Are over 25 and Chinese, South Asian, African-Caribbean or Black-African
  • Are over 40 and White
  • Are overweight - especially if you are large around the middle
  • Have a close family member with diabetes
  • Have ever had high blood pressure, heart attack or stroke
  • Have ever had schizophrenia, bipolar illness or depression, or if you are receiving treatment with antipsychotic medication
  • Are a woman who's had polycystic ovaries, gestational diabetes, or a baby weighing over 10 pounds
