Katie Elliott About my role at Westbank After relocating back to Devon in April 2022 after over 20 years in the North West, I joined Westbank in July 2022 as Fundraising and Marketing Officer, before being promoted in April 2023 to Head of Fundraising and Marketing. I am passionate about working in the charity sector and feel very lucky to be able to work for such an amazing organisation, whilst supporting the people of my home county. In my role, I am responsible for helping to raise the charities’ profile and in turn, generating the vital funding we require, in order to be able to offer our diverse range of health and wellbeing services. My stand-out career moments Prior to starting at Westbank, I spent over 20 years working in Aviation Marketing, where I was responsible for the Marketing at a number of UK International Airport’s including Liverpool John Lennon Airport. I was fortunate enough to work closely with a number of airlines & airports and often played a pivotal role in establishing new routes between them, as well as working to make them a success. Latterly I spent 2 years as Marketing and Communications Lead, then Head of Fundraising and Marketing for East Lancashire Hospice based in Blackburn Lancashire, where I was privileged to help both patients and their families to make the most of life. My values Kindness and compassion are two of the most important values to me, as well as the ability to empathise with people, whatever the situation. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to work in a role that I not only thoroughly enjoy, but which aligns wholeheartedly with my values and gives me a huge sense of satisfaction that I am making a difference to people’s lives. Personal interests Outside of work, I am kept busy with my two little boys! Together, we enjoy spending time with my wider family, preferably somewhere by the sea! (weather permitting!).
