Heather Allen, Westbank Kidzone Childcare Practitioner

About my role at Westbank

I work with children ages 2-11 across pre-school and after-school club and children ages 3-11 in holiday club during the school holidays. I ensure the children have a safe and secure environment where they can learn and be themselves, provide them with activities they enjoy and new experiences, and most importantly, make sure they have fun!

Experience

I have been with Kidzone working in Early Years for 3 years now. I have several years of experience working with children ages 4-8 in schools through the various qualifications I have achieved.

Qualifications

  • Currently, I am gaining my Early Years Teacher Status Qualification
  • BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care (Top-up)
  • FdA Health and Social Care
  • BTEC Level 3 Health and Social Care Extended Diploma
  • Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid
  • Level 2 Safeguarding
  • Level 2 Food and Hygiene
  • Fire Warden Training
  • Autism awareness in Early Years training

My values

I enjoy getting to know each and every child I meet, whether it be through pre-school, after-school club or holiday club.

I take pride in ensuring the environment is one in which the children can feel happy and safe.

I enjoy being part of a team that supports one another, and shares the same values and enthusiasm I do, working with the children every day.

My personal interests

I like spending time with my family and watching TV, and I love to go to the cinema with my friends.

Seeing the children's confidence grow, to come out of their shells and be themselves is one of my favourite things about working at Kidzone.
